Paul is the ex-Senior Partner and one of the founders of KMP in 1992.  His accountancy expertise lies primarily in advising owner managed companies but his background in dealing with large corporate businesses means he now also handles the firm’s largest clients, advising on a wide range of services covering strategy, acquisition reviews to delivery of core services.

Paul graduated from University in 1978 with a degree in Economics. He then joined the London office of the top four practice Arthur Young, now Ernst & Young. He qualified in 1981 and spent the next seven years progressing through the ranks to Senior Manager.  During this time he was responsible for the delivery of services to some of the firm’s largest corporate clients, including due diligence reports on target companies and preparation of documents for raising finance through both listings and rights issues.

In 1988 he joined the Reading office of Arthur Young where he worked with developing clients in the Thames Valley.  It was here that he acquired much of the knowledge which he now brings to smaller owner-managed companies.

In 1989, on the merger of Ernst and Whinney, he moved to Croydon to join BDO Binder Hamlyn.  It was here that he met the colleagues who were to form KMP. During his time with Binder Hamlyn he handled both owner-managed and corporate clients.

It was his desire to establish a firm which offered clients a more personal and realistically priced service which led to him leaving and setting up KMP with colleagues in Croydon in 1992.

Since 1992 Paul has been instrumental in establishing KMP as a well-respected firm, providing a wide range of both compliance and specialist advisory services. He retains the same drive, enthusiasm and passion for his clients and colleagues as when KMP was first established.

Having built up the practice from scratch he understands the issues facing businesses such as financing, debt collection, and marketing and employment issues and as such is able to offer proactive advice in a sympathetic manner.

Many of the clients he now acts for were business starts in the early days and have now grown to be significant companies. Throughout this time Paul has advised them on many issues as well as ensuring that all compliance matters are dealt with on a timely and efficient basis.

He has a broad range of expertise and skills and in particular advises owner-managed business of all sizes. He brings a wealth of ability and enthusiasm and gives the clients the comfort and professional advice they need.
